Alberta Premier Danielle Smith handily won Tuesday’s byelection and secured a seat in the legislature.
The Premier now has an opportunity to govern in the run-up to next spring’s provincial election.
In her victory speech, Smith focused on the cost of living and asserting Alberta’s sovereignty to Ottawa. She also discussed health care, a major issue in the riding, pledging more front-line workers while cutting expenses on administrative staff.
