Wanda is Bear Clan, Kanien'keha, Skarù rę', Anishinabe, and member of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg. Her career has focused on working alongside partners committed to the path toward long-term, meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples by guiding and shaping change through tangible, actionable approaches. In 1999, she began a consulting firm specializing in high tech outsourcing that successfully sustained client relationships for over 20 years. As a founding board member of Reconciliation Canada to her current leadership with the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund (IPRF), Wanda is committed to actioning real relationships with Indigenous peoples. As COVID began, she and a small team created The Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund – the first-ever Indigenous-led fund recognizes that innovative actions regularly actioned in Indigenous communities often go unsupported. Wanda's recent western education includes Harvard Business School Executive Education and current work on her Masters of Philanthropy and Non-profit Leadership at Carleton University.

Mary brings a wealth of expertise in forging strong relationships with Indigenous People throughout her twelve years as a Cabinet Minister in the BC Government. As Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Mary worked with the BC Treaty Commission to revitalize the BC Treaty Process ushering in the first real progress in years. Many more modern-day treaties have been signed and implemented in BC as a result. Mary also pioneered the use of non-treaty agreements in BC. She brought forward the First Nations Commercial Industrial Development Act, together with the Kitimat and Squamish Nations, unlocking the LNG opportunity in Kitimat and commercial/residential development opportunities in Squamish territory. A one-of-a-kind Strategic Engagement and Land Use Agreement in the North West of BC cemented Mary’s reputation as a credible negotiator and trusted partner with Indigenous leaders across BC. Her knowledge and experience are an enormous asset to the Maple Leaf team.
