He specializes as strategic counsel to c-level executives of some of the world’s leading and most innovative companies. In that role he has developed a track record of success in building and delivering clear, fresh, and engaging campaigns in Canada and the U.S.
In over twenty years as a public affairs professional, Phil has served sector leaders in areas as diverse as wireless technology, consumer safety, film, music, broadcasting, biotechnology, energy, environment, finance, mining, media, seafood, international trade and softwood lumber. He also counsels leading federal and provincial elected officials on policy, strategic communications, media management and crisis management.
Phil developed his skills in leadership roles on Canada’s Parliament Hill and national marketing experience as a senior campaign official in two federal election campaigns.
As the son of a Canadian diplomat, Phil was educated on four continents. He holds a degree in History & Political Science from McGill University, and has completed Executive Education courses at Oxford University Said Business School, Harvard Business School and Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Phil is a proud Canadian and a member of the Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Ottawa, the Ashbury College Foundation. He and his wife Vanessa have five children and a Rhodie called “Red.” Phil is a founding partner of Maple Leaf Strategies and a Hill Times Top 100 Lobbyist in Canada.
